Kim was born in 1957 in Omaha, Nebraska and raised in a rural community near Colorado Springs. After graduation from the Rocky Mountain School of Art he joined the faculty and later began teaching at the Art Students League of Denver and the Scottsdale Artists School. Kim's publications and articles include: Southwest Art Magazine "Charmed by the Commonplace"; American Artist Magazine "A Moment of Trtuth"; Artists Magazine "Keeping it Simple"; Art Talk - Focus; and the Review "An Instinctive Way to Paint".

Kim receives his inspiration traveling throughout the world, capturing images of everyday life. His years of experience teaching anatomy at the Art Students League of Denver is apparent in the way he captures the figure so beautifully in so many of his paintings.

May 10 is arrival day for the out of towners. That evening we'll have a nice reception at our Greenwich Village apartment and then we start painting on the 11th. So you will have 4 full painting days.

We will start out by painting in one of the most famous neighborhoods in New York City, Greenwich Village. If we're lucky we just might spot one of the numerous celebrities living here walking down the street - happens all the time. The last day of the workshop Nancy and I will host a wine and cheese reception in our courtyard on Bank Street - right around the corner from where we'll be painting.

I will help you find affordable lodging. You can really save money if you have a friend to share a room, whether they're a painter or not. I have a nice list of affordable hotels and can also help you find an apartment to rent by the day or week. We'll work on that together.
