Born and raised in the small
town of Yellow Springs, Ohio, Tim graduated from the Cooper Union School
of Art in New York City in 1984, where graphic design was his primary focus.
After finishing school, he worked at several design firms in NYC before
moving to San Francisco in 1992, where he continued to work as a designer.
Tim took his first painting class in 1998, followed by another in the fall of '99. and within a year was completely hooked. He began painting more and more, and doing less and less graphic deisgn. In the fall of 2006 he closed his design business and now paints full time. He participates in about 4 annual group shows, is represented by 3 galleries and does a handful of commissions every year. About half his work is done on location, or "plein air", and the rest is done in his studio from studies or photographs. Tim lives in Fairfax with his wife and
2 young sons, teaches several plein air workshops every year, and paints
all over the Bay Area and beyond. |

One of the best ways to get to San Miguel is to fly into Leon International Airport (BJX airport code), about 1½ hour drive from San Miguel. I will arrange van transportation from the airport to the hotel. The Leon airport is serviced by Continental and American Airlines of the US carriers and Mexicana and Aeromexico airlines each day. Continental flies you into Houston where you change to a Continental regional jet that takes you to Leon. American flies you into Dallas where the American regional jet flies you into Leon. There are flights on Mexicana from LAX directly to Leon airport but they depart Los Angeles at 12:55 AM and arrive at 6:00 AM.
